Course content

Research

Most development workers are so very involved with the day-to-day activities of their projects and programmes, that it is very difficult for them to see overall weaknesses and strengths in these projects or programmes. Often the result is that projects become run on an on-going crisis basis. Planning is forgotten, coordination is non-existent and resources are not used properly. How often have people from the same development office worked in the same area, and not coordinated their efforts?

Topics in this course include:

  • Prepare a brief for research activities for a development practice project
  •  Plan research activities for a development practice project
  • Evaluate research plans for a development practice project
  • Prepare appropriate research reports for use by different stakeholders.
