Executive Business Communication

The Fundamentals Training Centre’s (FTC) Executive Business Communication Programme in Cape Town, South Africa, teaches participants all aspects of English as a foundation for the development of higher level Business Communication competencies. Participants can use the competencies gained in both their professional and personal lives.

The focus is on developing language skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Other outcomes of the course include improving English grammar, building English vocabulary and enhancing pronunciation.

Our Executive Business Communication Programme has 2 components:

English Intensive – Group
In these sessions participants work in small groups with a professional English language facilitator. This allows for interaction with other international students who have similar language skills. These sessions are usually conducted in the morning and are offered in partnership with our sister company, Eurocentres.

English Intensive – Executive
The English Intensive – Executive sessions take place in the afternoon with the purpose of supplementing the morning sessions with one-on-one mentoring/individualised tuition to accelerate learning and ensure readiness for the Business Writing and Presentation components of the course. The focus here is on contextualising English for the participant. Contextualisation includes out of class learning e.g. job shadowing and attending conferences and seminars. This course is conducted by a highly qualified and experienced English language.

As part of the programme participants are taken on excursions to local places of interest to learn more about South African and African culture and history, as a means of enhancing and practicing the participant’s English language skills.

At the beginning of the course participants are assessed to determine their English language level. Based on the outcome of this test, a timetable is devised and participants are appropriately placed to ensure that they achieve the best results.

Regular assessments are conducted to establish the participant’s progress.

Once Delegates have reached Level 4.5 (Upper Intermediary), they proceed to FTC International Business Communication Courses.
