FTC39 – Computer Literacy

This is an introduction to computers course that aims at providing office personnel with the basic skills to operate a personal computer within a Windows and Microsoft environment. The course is offered at four levels: Introductory, Entry, Intermediate and Advance, each with their own set of expected and negotiated outcomes.

For example, at the end of the Introductory Course participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of and produce computer spreadsheets using basic functions
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and produce word processing documents using basic functions
  • Operate a personal computer system

Dependent on the needs of course participants we can extend these outcomes to include specific modules at each of the Entry, Intermediate and Advance levels in identified programmes such as MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Project and PowerPoint.

At the Advance level we also offer specialised courses in areas such as computer operating systems, customised database systems and computerised financial management systems.

Who should attend this course?

This training course is primarily aimed at anyone who has no, or a limited, knowledge of computers. Specialists can be accommodated at the Advance level.
