Dr Earl Starr is an associate of FTC and currently owns a business management consulting agency that focuses mainly on the implementation of Quality Management Systems with a bias towards food safety and the ISO programmes to SME organisations.
He holds the position as Western Cape chairperson for the Southern African Society for Quality which is a national professional membership organisation for the registration of Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety practitioners.
He also holds board membership for the Western Cape Fine Food Initiative South Africa as a platform in which to network, share ideas and establish a voice in the competitive food market place.
He is a national workplace assessor and partners with other consultancies to award learner certifications in the Food and Beverages sector. He has developed learning programmes for learnerships in both manufacturing and retail environments.
Corporate social responsibility is close to his heart, which includes trusteeship for Mhani Gingi Social Entrepreneurial Network where he coordinates funding and operational activities.
He is a graduate of the University of Cape Town where he completed his Doctoral degree in Chemistry. He spent 16 years in large multi-national companies, at executive and production facility levels.
His experience extends from Production Management through to a number of World Class Manufacturing initiatives and sustaining Quality, Safety and Environmental systems.
