Aim
This qualification aims to capacitate and support individuals and communities in achieving their development objectives. Furthermore it enables learners to establish community resource projects and plan and facilitate learning programmes that lead to community upliftment.
Many Development Practitioners, including volunteers, are already in possession of the skills and experience in community mobilisation but they lack a specific Development Practice qualification. This course is an accessible way for existing or aspirant development practitioners to obtain a basic qualification in the field.
Programme Coordinator
Hylton Bergh is the Operations manager at The Fundamental Training Centre. His work includes overseeing Project Managers that manage the logistical aspects of our training interventions. As a qualified facilitator, assessor and moderator with the ETDP SETA, he is well equipped to coordinate the rollout of the HETC qualification in Development Practice. His global travels and experience enables him to interact and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and he is particularly passionate about the education, training and development of the people of South Africa.
Admission Requirements
Practitioners wishing to pursue this qualification are assumed to have at least an NQF Level 4 qualification in Development Practices or any other recognised education qualification at NQF Level 4. We recognise that many practitioners have been involved in community development without necessarily having had a formal qualification. Practitioners who do not have the necessary entry qualification may be admitted through an RPL process based on their experience in the field.
